This privacy policy describes how Inburgering: AI Coach ("the app", "we") handles your information. The app is a study tool for the Dutch civic integration exam (inburgeringsexamen). It is available on the App Store and on Google Play.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. You sign in with Google (Android) or with Apple (iOS). We receive the account identifier from that provider and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address. We never receive your password.
• Voice audio. When you talk to the AI language coach, your voice is streamed to our servers and to our speech-processing providers so the coach can understand you and reply. Audio is processed to run the conversation in real time.
• Conversation transcripts. What you and the coach say is transcribed so the app can show the conversation, correct your Dutch and produce a lesson review.
• Study data. Your exercise answers, practice-exam results, saved words, study plan and progress are stored so the app can work.
• Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple or by Google Play. We receive only your subscription status. We never receive or store your payment card details.
• Usage and technical data. Basic device and usage information (device type, app version, screens visited, taps and scrolls) used to keep the app working and to fix problems. See section 4.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the app: lessons, practice exams, study plan and the AI voice coach.
• To maintain your account and subscription status.
• To improve the app and fix technical issues.
• To respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. Service providers

We use a small number of specialist providers to run the app. They act as processors: they handle data only to deliver their service to us, under our instructions, and may not use it for their own purposes. The categories are:

• Cloud hosting and database — storing your account and study data.
• Real-time voice infrastructure — carrying the live audio and video of a lesson.
• AI language and speech providers — understanding your speech, generating the coach's replies, corrections, translations and lesson reviews, converting replies into speech, and animating the tutor avatar.
• Subscription management — keeping track of whether your subscription is active (no payment details).
• Analytics and session replay — see section 4.
• Apple and Google — sign-in and payment processing on their own platforms.

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard. You can request the current list of the providers we use by writing to the address in section 9.

4. Analytics and session replay

We use a third-party analytics provider to understand how the app is used, through usage metrics and session replay (a reconstruction of screen interactions such as taps and scrolls, together with the screen you were on). This helps us find bugs and improve the app. It does not record your microphone or camera.

5. Data retention

Your account and study data are kept while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app: open the Profile tab and tap Delete account. You can also request deletion by email (see Contact below), and we will delete your data within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR (AVG) you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

7. Children

The app is intended for adults preparing for the civic integration exam and is not directed at children under 16.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app. The latest version is always available on this page.

Nederlandse samenvatting

Wij verzamelen alleen wat nodig is om de app te laten werken: je account (inloggen met Google op Android of met Apple op iOS), je spraak en de transcripties van je gesprekken met de AI-coach, je oefenresultaten en studieplan, en basis-technische gegevens. Voor de app werken wij samen met gespecialiseerde dienstverleners: cloudhosting en database, live audio-infrastructuur, AI-taal- en spraakdiensten, abonnementsbeheer en een analyse-dienst met session replay van schermhandelingen (geen microfoon of camera). Abonnementen lopen via Apple of Google Play; wij zien je betaalgegevens niet. We verkopen je gegevens niet en gebruiken ze niet voor reclame van anderen. Je kunt je account en gegevens zelf verwijderen in de app via Profiel → Account verwijderen, of mail naar support@theworkwith.com. Deze app is niet van DUO of de overheid.
